CRITICAL DISCOURSE ANALYSIS (CDA) OF THE 16TH VENICE ARCHITECTURE BIENNALE MANIFESTO

The Venice Architecture Biennale emerged with post-modern thought in the late 1970s and early 1980s. It is a medium where political, economic cultural transformations are experienced field of architecture mainstream global discussed shared. Over time, has created focal point manifestos produced, while bringing together architectural products ideas ambiguity boundaries local architecture. Biennial have an ideological structure that oriented towards social relations Looking at recent Biennale, it can be said knowledge production forefront discourses which develops critical thinking. In this context, study deals manifesto1 16th Biennale. 2018’s manifesto was produced within scope biennial; curator’s ideology worth examining because its subjective objective judgments. For reason, Norman Fairclough’s discourse analysis (CDA) used to make reading biennial manifestos. By using characteristics CDA, findings conclusions were reached topics ideology, interpretation consistency discourse. Due nature analysis, revealed new controversial field.
